Hi, can somebody tell me how to use this cab? I am using juicy 3.7.1 on my sprint diamond phone. When I start internet sharing, the window showed status as disconnected, and I could choose "USB" or "Bluetooth PAN". But I couldn't click the connect button, as it was in freeze status.

I tried soft reset the system. It also did not allow me to remove the program. Before I could use internet sharing through phone as modem.

Thanks!

Having the same problem. Its not allowing me to choose connect. Looks like the word "disconnect" is a bit greyed out. I would stick with just stick with pdanet but for some odd reason my active sync connection disconnects every 15 minutes. Doing a search now on what thats all about.

Why would people manually do reg edits when they can just install the cab from page 1?
It worked for me out of the box, dont understand the mass confusion or the editing of regs being done.

I had problems early on and the people in the forum helped me out. I have recently gone through a Sprint Touch, Diamond and have ended up with a Touch Pro. Both cabs have worked on all three phones. Below is a step by step with thanks to Schwartz, Anthrax, Puff, and foxnews. (If I left anyone out my apologies and feel free to correct this post for clarity or content)

First, you need to install Active sync (WMDC for vista) for the drivers.

(Make sure you have your USB cable plugged into the PC/Laptop)

Next, establish a data connection by opening PIE or Opera.

Then open Internet Sharing – you will see connect in the bottom left corner, click that and you will see “Check USB cable connection”.

Now is the time you actually connect your phone to the PC/Laptop via the USB cable.

Now you will be rewarded with Status “Connected” found in the top left corner.

Click on any browser on your PC/Laptop and you will be on the Internet. I have been using tethering for months and have never been charged for extra data.

I use Smartphone GPRS Traffic Monitor for Pocket PC found at http://www.efficasoft.com/gprsmonitor/index_ppc.html (I do not work for Efficasoft and have nothing to gain, however MODs if this needs to be deleted or edited feel free)

Works flawlessly !!!!!! (Diamond w/ OEM Rom, XP, ActSyn 4.5)

Checked my usage online and all data usage is listed under phones data plan.

Is this only good for USB tethering or will it work for bluetooth tether as well?

Create a modem connection with the name "Sprint". The new Juicy roms do not have a Sprint specific rom, therefore, the connection has a generic name. The tethering cab specifically points the registry to a connection named Sprint. If you don't change the connection name, it can't find it, therefore, the connect button is greyed out. I had to figure this one out by looking at the registry changed by this cab. Hope this helps.

Random question regarding the post above me...

Does it matter what that connection was called until I just changed it as far as sprint is concerned or will using the generic named one screw me over with data charges that I have used on the device itself?

It should be noted that I am on SERO and have unlimited power vision.

Also, is PDAnet "safer" than this connection?

Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!

Uhmm guys, keep in mind i have been doing reg edits and unzippings, unpacking, cab running for a while now, i finally got around to doing the tethering trick, and well i cant say my reading skills we're up to par on this one, i mis read and deleted the:

"set/create MaxCMCon=0" key instead of the DLL in the Extension key

From Essentials "Hack Internet Sharing to work: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Delete Extension key, set/create MaxCMCon=0 (decimal). "

Anyone help me get the key set up the way its supposed to be in there?

p.s i installed the cab posted on first page and it did not revert that key back... so im assuming i was supposed to delete it? confused ..

Edit: Does installing to the Removable Storage produce the same effect, or since the registry is in the Internal Storage should i have installed the Tethering Cab to Windows?
