Re: Can the black camera shroud be removed from the Burgundy back?
I figure I can easily cover up the camera hole. Worse case, spray paint the back of the cover. My concern was with the "3.2 megapixel" label that screams "I have a camera-phone"! Hence my desire to completely repaint/cover that portion to make it look like an OEM non-cameraphone.

No, it's molded into the back. Here's a pic (Diamond taking a picture of it's own back)

Re: Can the black camera shroud be removed from the Burgundy back?
Ah, I see... It appears to be made of a thin shiny piece of plastic overtop of the back. You might be able to peel it off. Or you might scratch the heck out of the back, and make a big mess of it... It also appears that you should be able to scrape off the paint that says "3.2 Mega Pixels" (it's not embossed or anything), and then a shot of black paint (or electical tape) on the inside should fix it. I can try the electrical tape tonight, and see how obvious it is still (and post a picture).

Re: Can the black camera shroud be removed from the Burgundy back?
I would get a new back on ebay, and then just plug the hole.
You could go for the "diamond theme" for $20: http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-Touch-Diamon...ayphotohosting Or for $15 get an extended 1800mA battery with cover: http://cgi.ebay.com/1800mAh-battery-...ayphotohosting Either of these seem easier to mask than the Sprint back.
