I went to a store today, hoping to get a Touch screen protector (since my daughter gets the Touch).

Asked "When is the Diamond coming?" Answer = 25th. (Huh? A Thursday?)

Moral of this story (which, of course, most of already well know): Ask 10 Sprint employees, get 5 to 10 different answers!

Well, my store said mid October and I can't go with my stupid Treo 800w which randomly shuts down and won't restart for hours on end. So I called Sprint and convinced someone there to agree to the exchange that the store promised me even though I'm more than 60 days out from my Treo purchase. I convinced telephone sales to honor the exhange promise but they claim that the don't do overnight shipping. Get this, they claim when they do overnight it sometimes takes 10 days to two weeks for it to arrive. Two different people told me this. They also told me that they are going to bill my account the full $595 until I send back my Treo 800w but they sent me a shipping return label by email. Does that sound right?

My experience has been that you can ask 10 different Sprint employees each twice and get 30 different answers. Go figure. At least I have an order no. and a return label now.

LOL 10/12 that is funny. What a pathetic Sprint response to getting out one of the most anticipated phones ever. Didn't the Treo 800w come out a week after it released on Telesales? I'll put my money on it being in stores WAY before 10/12. If you can get it through online order or telesales at a better price than the store, wtf would you go to a store a month later?

I've got an order no. now and got an email with a return UPS label for my old phone. How do I get a tracking no. (I know I'm in patient but we're all wasting time here so I don't feel too bad).

I exchanged a phone before and they charged the price of the phone until they got back my old phone. Im doing this again for the diamond.

I was a little bit worried about them charging the phone to my account sincethey had promised to do in exchange but my original purchase was more than 60 days ago. I felt much better when I got the return UPS label via e-mail and I feel much better hearing from you that this is a standard procedure. Thanks very much for your post!

Now, how long does it take to get from order number two tracking number? And why are so many people saying they got their phones overnighted them and that speaking to four people who said they can't overnight and that if they tried it would take longer? Maybe I'm not very persuasive.

10/12 is the in store launch date. It's been documented internally. They may show up on the 8th or 9th or something, but that's about it.

I'm so glad I ordered on the phone. I was about to start losing clients over my Treo 800w shutdown problem and the Sprint store has been telling me "any day now, any day now," since September 2.

Now I can't wait to get a tracking no. to match my order no. and start watching for my new phone.

Kentucky Governor says 550,000 were without power

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Gov. Steve Beshear says that more than a half-million Kentuckians have been without power due to high winds from the remnants of Hurricane Ike that hit the state Sunday.

That was at the peak of the outages last night.

The governor called it the biggest outage on record in Kentucky. The storms downed trees and power lines as winds reaching up to 70 miles per hour pounded the state. Many schools were closed Monday because of the lack of electricity.

Beshear says 90 percent of Duke Energy's customers in northern Kentucky were without power Sunday night.

He said damage from the winds were reported in half of the state's 120 counties.
