On the plus side, I did find out about "Kinoma", so I can look into that. Clint

My irritiation with his review was the constant iphone/touch comparisons. I understand the iphone is easy to use but it can't do half what a wm powered phone can do... |

Re: A little review of the sprint diamond
I'm sorry but I must say that the review was actually pretty good. He's absolutely right. You have this new ( 2008 model ) beautiful phone with a very nice UI, has the best screen resolution of any other phone and many other great features..... BUT! Most of the main feature on the phone use veryyyyyy ( and I stress this ) verrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy outdated programs such as the email, calender, calculator ( Yep I'm picky. But I should be, this phone is more than half a thousand dollars ) task, and messaging . I thought these programs looked very outdated with my mogul, so why are they on my Diamond, Why does my diamond programs have the same look as a ppc 6700? This is just like buying a new 2008 Ford GT that runs on the 1907 Ford Model T engine ........ BUT! I come to this verrrrryyyyy ( and I stress this ) verrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy ( lol ) informative site and learn how to update those issues.
I'm glad I came to sites like this one where you have excellent people who teach you how to use the power of these devices. I feel bad for the outsiders. Last edited by edub186; 09-04-2008 at 02:48 AM. |

Re: A little review of the sprint diamond
So the Diamond isn't suitable for use by chimps?
Though this article is not by Walt himself, both he and his trusty assistant are consistent. They just want things to work without thought or complexity, which is why the iphone appeals to them. If they can't understand something it must be bad. Sure WM could use some upgrading and improvements, but the trade off of configurabilty and the availability of a vast selection of software more than makes up for it already. WM7 shouldn't be all that far off. |

The issues I have with your agreement to the hateration of someone who is, out of their mind, biased and down right stupid is that this phone is different from the PPC 6700. Yes, the 6700 has been around for a long time, 4 years even, but, windows mobile's requirements haven't really changed all that much either. If you want to talk about visuals..........the 6700 doesn't even compare to the Diamond, not as far as style, screen depth, amounts of colors or resolution for that matter. I still have an Apache(6700) but that devices is a dinosaur, it's slow, has very little ram and it's just not cutting it anymore. I am not buying a Diamond, I'm getting a Touch Pro. To each it's own but come on read between the lines here, this is more of an attack on windows mobile than it is on the phone itself, WM is more customizable than any other phone OS around!!!

My statement was about this phone having outdated programs. Do you think its cool to buy a brand new Sony computer with Windows 98 on it? Come on WTF. "Windows Mobile is becoming more like EA Sports with John Madden football. Same ole BS just a new year". |

Re: A little review of the sprint diamond
Pity, I LIKE the same old BS. It clean and does what it needs to do. TF3D is going to be the first thing I turn OFF when I get my diamond.
Ill put put by on the today screen and having space for more than 2 bytes of information. I have SPB phone suit for the pretty stuff, which is almost exclusively for the contact manager, and thats easy enough to find today plugins for. TF3D/iPOS is all flash, and I dont like flash. Give me every single spec of info you can find and shove it into one space. Flash does that poorly. Simple does it well.
