I'd like an SD card not for the size, but for the ability to transfer files to the phone from a computer without having to install active sync on the computer. That's a huge capablity lost, IMO.

Agreed. And when I look at the Moto Razrs and Blackberry Curve, their SD 'slot' in the battery compartment takes up almost no room. No physical/space reason, IMO, that the Sprint Diamond can't have an SD card. Some weird Sprint marketing thing, I'd guess.
