Question about d-pad

I've read all the stuff i can, & watched a lot of videos on the new diamond & i can't wait for sprint to get it. The one thing that i'd like to know is how thee d-pad works. Does it work like the one on my mogul where you can actually press it up, down left & right, or is it only used by running your finger around the circle?

Re: Question about d-pad

both.

some programs will let you move your finger in circles to zoom while you will need to click up, down, left or right for others.

Re: Question about d-pad

Ok, thanks for the reply. I primarily use the d-pad to scroll through stuff, & i really wasnt gonna be to pleased if i had to do circles with my finger all the time, lol. Have a great day, & thanks again for the quick reply.

Re: Question about d-pad

There actually are real directional buttons (up/down/left/right) surrounding the nav wheel, they're just hidden underneath the surface. It took me quite a while playing with the phone to figure that out because you can't see it in the pictures and I never noticed it covered in any of the thousands of video reviews I watched.
I've personally found that with the overall changes in the UI, I almost never use the d-pad at all anymore, even though I used it all the time with my Vogue. Your usage may vary though!
Myke...

Lightbulb d-pad lighting

http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=por...ws&id=1094&p=1

"I should also note that in the center of the D-Pad is a circular white lighting system that shows the phone status. When a call comes in, you get a rapidly blinking circle of light. When charging it will glow from bottom to top (and stay fully lit when charge is complete), and the top and bottom part of the ring flashes twice when there is a new message."

This is what is mentioned about the lighting on the dpad for the GSM touch pro.. wonder if the CDMA diamond has the same "feature".

-CC

REF: Looks like the GSM Diamond has this.
