My diamond impressions
If you live near the galleria area in Houston(tx), they have a diamond on display in Futuretech(i believe thats the name). After some fiddling, I can say that its really nice. The screen seems "smoother" to the touch than the vogue for some reason, and its really responsive now. The scroll tab at the bottom of the screen keeps up with the speed of your finger very nicely, and everything as far as the front interface goes works pretty snappy. Also, even if you are on a screen that doesnt have any "touch features", you can still pull it around a bit. It doesnt do anything at all, but it just makes the presentation feel better since it still reacts to your gestures regardless of there being anything to do or not touch wise.
Opening a fresh program was about the same speed as it is on the vogue, which is a bit refreshing to see, as i was afraid of some serious lag. Traveling through the window interface was also a breeze, and with the added sensativity to the screen, it makes the simple menu screens found in WM a bit less cumbersome to navigate.
Lastly, its smaller than i thought it would be. Ive seen the dimensions online and its pretty much the same size as the vogue, just thinner and taller. Well, in person, this thing really seems like its smaller, and it feels good in your pocket(i promised i wouldnt run). Also, it doesnt feel like it weights more, and its definitely got a high amount of polish on the shell(so fingerprint friendly, haha).
In all, after messing with it, i find myself excited because of what the community here will be able to do with it rather than what it offers up front. It really is an awesome phone though, and I cant wait to see what everyone comes up with...that will really be what pulls the diamond ahead for me.
