Backlight

HTC Diamond - I would like to keep the dimming of the backlight off when I lock the phone. I go to "start", "setting", "system", "power", "backlight". I have "Auto adjust backlight" and "Dim the backlight if the device is locked" UNCHECKED. I press and hold the button and the device locks and the backlight still dims. Is there any way to stop the backlight from dimming? Thanks.
