Not sure if this has been said but could you download the stock/shipped rom with a pc and transfer it to internal storage on your device via bluetooth connection with your pc. Then flash it from internal storage?

I haven't had any luck getting it to connect. I would use the bluetooth suggestion, but the phone was flashed with a bad ROM and will not boot up past the HTC startup screen with red numbers...

i agree.. the internal storage of 4GB is nice, but i'd much rather have the removable card.. you can buy 4-8GB microSD cards nowadays for under $20 ...
