Problem with reminders draining battery

If I have reminders on my phone snoozed for 1 hour and I leave it over night - come the morning the battery is dead from the reminder keep coming on all night

Is there a way to stop this?

I'm sure I've done something wrong coz I'm sure it didn't do this when it was new
