From Bell to Metro-PCS
Hello all,
My gf has a motorola with metro-pcs service, I just bought a brand new never activated Bell's Touch Diamond (CDMA) to replace the motorola. I'd like to confirm that the following are the correct steps in doing it, my goal is to use metro's voice/data, provided we switch to a data plan, and to install a rom other than the stock Bell.
1. Flash a HardSPL.
2. Find the ROM we like and flash it.
3. Flash a Metro-PCS PRL file.
4. Take the phone to a metro store and have it activated in their network and switch to the data plan. (They already said they can activate the phone)
Questions:
1. Are these the correct order for having everything working?
2. If the order is different and I have to take it to metro first, when I flash the HSPL and new ROM will I loose metro's config?
3. Is the PRL file all I need to get internet working? What software is used to flash the PRL?
4. Do I have to flash the PRL or Metro will do it at the time of activation?
5. How do I know if a ROM comes with radio? If I flash a ROM without radio will that leaves me without radio software?
6. Do I need to flash the HSPL? I've seen ROMs with their own SPL, I'm not planning to play with ROMs at the moment, just find one that I like and use it.
Thanks to all in advance, any help is much appreciated.
