Re: Diamond possibly dead, please help...
The lifting near the button, (Quote > "I noticed it seems like the bottom part of the screen was lifted a tiny bit above the buttons...theres a tiny lift on the whole bottom half now.") sounds suspicious as it would not do that by itself. If there was damage to this part, it may account for your problem.
If the above is not the case, and only you know for sure, maybe you have a damaged USB Port. Try a Known Fully Charged Battery and see what happens.

Re: Diamond possibly dead, please help...
I don't think the battery is the issue. I just had it charging through the AC adapter and it shows that it's fully charged by the solid white halo. Just to make sure I unplugged it, took the battery out and put it back in to see if it kept the charge. When I plug it in, it charges for about a minute before going solid again signifying that it's fully charged. Maybe the real damage happened a long time ago but for some reason it decided to wear out now?
Anyone else have any ideas? |

I did, it gets fully charged. I can't really "turn it on" per say. If I try, it vibrates like its being put on and just stops everything.

Streaks:
I had the same problem you are experiencing. My Screen was black but when I plug in to charge the circle will light up. Also When I turn on the phone it vibrates so I know it is on. But when I call the device it does not ring but the circle lights up. I fixed it by replacing the LCD+Touch screen module and Hard reset the device. Everything is back to normal. |

Re: Diamond possibly dead, please help...
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I ended up going to Sprint since I had no idea what was wrong. I had no insurance so they replaced the same phone for $120 bucks which I went with since I didn't want to sign up for a two year contract. I don't see too much out there that is that much better than my Diamond to be honest...at least imo. I'd have gotten the Nexus or HD2 if it was available on Sprint.

Re: Diamond possibly dead, please help...
Too bad you already dealt with it...
In my experience, something worth checking is the battery terminals. They are flimsy little metal hoops that touch the battery. My mom's Touch Pro acted similar after dropping it, and it turned out to be the battery posts were bent. Used a staple and pulled them back into place, and she had no further problems.
