I want the 2.3 update

I am looking for the offical Gingerbread update to put on my Desire. I have seen many references to it online but I have been unable to access the Htc site that it is supposed to be on. Anyone out there have this file or know where I can find it? I have wanted to update this phone but have no experience with the updating or flashing the Android phones. Thanks for any help.

Gingerbread upgrade is provided by HTC for Desire Smartphones. But if you are not able to access the websites to upgrade your phone then the only available option for you is to root your phone. Check for the process over web and install a custom stable ROM on your phone.
