How does one start building roms for a phone? What are some resources? I'm really interested in building a Rom for this phone. I know it would haveto be inlocked to load roms but I would like to start.

i've noticed btw, that reception on this phone seems pretty crappy. Granted reception on my touch pro 2 wasn't great as well, but i'm a half mile from the tower and i'm getting 2-3 bars where my TP2 would run 4. Phone is showing about -80 dbm to -86 dbm. I have no problems making calls so far, but on average the signal seems lower than it should be and i'm worried about battery life. It's a nice phone, just wish reception was a tad better.

Yea my battery is almost dead I've used the whole day. But I didn't use my tp2 like I would with Android

Anyone know who has been doing most of the work rooting our devices? I will gladly offer a donation to get the USCC Desire rooted. Mr X? Bueler? Bueler?

You could try contacting the unrevoked team. They've made a lot of progress with rooting Android devices in general. Otherwise, it's up to random developers offering solutions.

Could someone who has the us cellular version desire look on the box the phone came in and let me know how much ram it says. It says 384 on the htc site for the us cellular version. I thought it was going to have 576mb and that is what i heard mention in youtube unboxings of the us cellular version. I am just curious bc i am going to buy the cellular south cdma desire.

howard forums seems to have the most active uscc user base around.
might want to look around there for info :)

2.2 will be out by the end of September. From big wigs at USCC corporate who specialize in our smartphones.
