Who gives a $%&@ about 4G? its just a thing that carriers do to try to battle each other over who's network is better/faster. kinda like the bit wars of the 90s with game systems. 3G is fast enough for most things.

Wirelessly posted (Htc Arrive: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows Phone OS 7.0; Trident/3.1; IEMobile/7.0; HTC; T7575))

I doubt we will heard of a 4g wp7 phone by Christmas. It'll more than likely be a lte version in 2012 on the now network. 3G is efficient for me at this present moment.

Re: Alright, I've spent over 2 weeks with the phone now...

Faster is better when it comes to networks and download speeds. If I didn't get a free HTC Arrive, I would have complained that it was the same price as 4G phones. Nevertheless, the word is, that 4G phones are battery hogs and I have a hard enough time going an entire day without having to charge the battery overnight.

Re: Alright, I've spent over 2 weeks with the phone now...

Yes, but until a few days ago, I only had the micro USB adapter that came with the device and if I left it at work, then I could not charge the device until I returned the next day. I go to the gym before work and if I don't charge it at night, then I don't have enough battery to listen to my music or watch a movie, etc...

I believe the battery manufacturers have failed to take into account the constant use these devices have compared to older phones. It seems a lot of the apps require internet connectivity which drains the battery.

I supposed it is acceptible that the Arrive is not a 4G phone, otherwise I'd have to charge it twice a day!

Re: Alright, I've spent over 2 weeks with the phone now...

if it was 4G probably wouldn't be the correct one think Sprint is moving from WIMAX to LTE. So in two years spend $10 more a month for 4G or $240 and probably only end up with 3G coverage anyway. My home market only went 3G a couple of months ago.

We (I) still have to pay the extra $10 per month for the HTC Arrive even though it is only 3G.

And there's a thread about that where we can all go discuss the fee.

apps don't run I. the background and drain battery like they do on Android unless u have them set to run under the lock screen. and the thing about LI-ION battery technology is the more capacity u want the bigger they will be. then u will be complaining about how bulky the device is. until there's a better and more efficient battery technology this is how its gonna be.
