Yeah. EVRC is "Enhanced Variable Rate CODEC".
It enables a lower bitrate (bandwidth) while still mainting voice quality (full rate at 8.5 kbps, half rate at 4 kbps, and eighth rate at 800 bps) The setting we changed "forces" it to 13kbps. Both Verizon and Sprint use this codec. They might have the capability to over-ride whatever we set our phones to tho'. I dunno. It made it a little louder for me IMO. It is a huge advantage when someone not only tells you how to do something, but why/how it works.
I think Verizon/Sprint have enough available bandwidth to let me and you use 13k instead of the 8.5k max EVRC allows. I pay for it, I should be able to use it.... Thrilsekr |

thanks guys i think ill do that instead!! its just that i had so many i had like 20 and it was taking up all of my main storage memory so i just wanted to transfer then to my storage card. oh well thanks! you guys are the most helpful people i have met! well not really.. hehe!
