Syntax for "Additional Registry Entries"

Pardon the n00b question but I've searched and come up empty. I'm trying to add the following registry entries in the OEMizer:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P3\Enable=0
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P5\Enable=0
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout=30

What is the correct syntax for entering these so they get picked up by the BuildOS when I cook a new ROM?

EDIT: Based on examining the PersonalOEM-RGU.txt file I set it up as:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P3]
"Enable"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P5]
"Enable"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Backlight]
"QKeyLedTimeout"=dword:00000030

Is that right?

looks right to me except for the last one. dword:00000030 is hexadecimal, so if you want decimal 30 then you should have dword:0000001E

this looks cool. I will have to play with it.

-Fixed today theme not setting on first boot for the most part. Still may not set sometimes but that's due to windows having a sloppy method of startup.
-Added the ability to set sounds for events in Sounds & Notifications. (and yes, they save in your oemizer settings too.)

PS: The default settings for all the sounds in the list are actually the WM6 defaults, so you don't have to change any or even check the "Set Individual Sounds" box unless you want to customize. Leaving the box unchecked leaves them out of your rgu.

tiermann,

Wow - this app just keeps getting better and better. I LOVE the ability to set notifications in advance. One request - is it possible to add "silent vibe half second"? I think quite a few of us prefer our phones to vibrate instead of making a sound. With the silent vibe half second we can use vibrate without the phone vibrate the full four seconds which is excessive.

Again - great work. This application is awesome.

mbartels, When you select both vibrate and a ring tone the vibration lasts as long as the ring tone. So... I created a one-second ringtone of silence and a half-second ringtone of silence. I use the half second vibe for new emails and text messages, and the full second vibe for voicemails. Here are the files (which I now bake into my PersonalOEM by placing these files in the 6700's \Windows\ folder).

Tiermann, is there a way to select these additional ringtones in the OEMizer? I put them in the Additional Sounds folder, but they're not listed as options (so I assume you prebuilt the list that shows up?). Can that list be dynamically generated at runtime based on the files available in the Additional Sounds and/or Additional Ringtones folder(s)? Is it also possible to expand on the new 1.2.7 functionality of pre-setting individual sounds to support setting the vibration flag and the ring/ring&vibe/ringthenvibe/etc. dropdown values as well as the specific ringtones? That would be great. This is an awesoome tool. Great work!

You can type whatever you want into the dropdown box and hit the save button. Just remember that it's looking for a full path unless the file is in the windows folder. ("\\Extended ROM\\Some_sound.wma")

Next thing i'm working on is individual settings for each sound (enable/disable, duration, etc).

--1.2.9
-Added speeddial to the Phone&Data section. (saves in oemizer settings and uses provxml)
-Cleaned up "save" code to more easily add new items.
--1.2.8
-Cleaned up the navPanel code to make it easier for me to add new sections.
-Added "Provxml" section to the OEM Info group. You can add extra provxml entries there or drag n' drop a provxml into the textbox.
-Drag n' Drop also supported for reg and rgu files in the "Additional Registry Entries" box.

SilvOreo,

Thanks for the files - I appreciate it. I've been using only one (1/2 second) but I like your idea of using both to distinguish without having to look at the phone. I understand the concecpt of "When you select both vibrate and a ring tone the vibration lasts as long as the ring tone" but did a poor job explaining it. Thanks for the assist!

For what it's with, EOMizer worked great for this. I had both sound files automatically copied from my laptop into the windows folder on the PPC6700. I then had OEMizer automatically install my preferred sound (or silent .wav file). It worked great! Only the voicemail notification was turned on by default after install - I had to manual turn the other sounds on but the did already have the correct preset option I had chosen. Not sure why only one was turned on by default but either way, I love this software and this option was a great addition.

Have many been able to use the Exchange server feature. I tried been haven't been able to get it to work. Two issues for me.

1. My server doesn't use SSL. After installing (being careful not to check "SSL") I can't get anything to work. I'm get an error am prompted for a certificate which I shouldn't need. I tried to get into the setting to see if SSL was on or off, but the option isn't available.

2. I'd like to sync tasks. That's not an option in OEMizer which is fine. The problem is that I can't add tasks later. The option is simply not there.

Weird - I just tried this again and still no dice. For some reason, my exchange server won't work when I pre-install settings with OEMizer. When I do them manually, it works great.

Has anybody using exchange and non SSL gotten this to work?

Help

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong...(ANYONE PLEASE HELP)
the Button Mapping still does not work for me. I even tried making a settings for Mapping the buttons only, and everything flashes just fine, but when i press the buttons only to find the default of the kitchen. I used the \\ for every button, nothing.

I CHECKED THE REGISTRY AFTER FLASHING, AND THE CORRECT ENTRIES ARE THERE, BUT THEY ARE NOT MAPPED AT ALL!
let me what else do i need to do to make this work![/QUOTE]

Anyone found a way to do this correctly?

tiermann 11-29-2007 03:58 PM

Button mapping is still in the "Known Issues I'm Working On:" in the opening post.

Edit: Found the problem. OEMizer is setting HKLM\Software\Shell for the buttons instead of HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell

I'll have version 1.3.0 up in a few mins.
