rollback pri 1.18 to 1.06?

anybody aware of a .cab that will rollback the pri update? I have a customer @ Alltel that has updated the PRI to 1.18 and will have to send the phone back to the manufacturer unless there's a fix for restoring the default pri 1.06.* that shipped with the phone. Hard reset won't roll back the PRI since it's in ROM. Tried flashing the phone with the AKU2 fix (found @ <http://www.utstar.com> ) -- the latest ROM version available to Alltel PPC6700 users -- but the PRI remains at 1.18.* even after the flash. Any ideas???

By the way, this is the best PPC6700 info and hacks site available, in my opinion.

Thanks for the compliment. I had this problem also when trying to roll my prl back. Not sure what fixed it bu after flashing 3 different roms to it, i successfully rolled back my prl. I could suggest tho if you can manually update the prl like us sprint users, then i would go to the site posted on the second page of the sprint prl 20225 thread in the general discussion forum it may have the actually prl file if u dont have that.

ps would help more but im on my ppc. give alittle time.

Still no fix for the PRI problem. The ring-through hack should have a disclaimer that the PRI CAB is for Sprint only!!!! I say this because @ Alltel, PPC6700's are dropping like flies because their data connections aren;t functioning properly after installing the PRI 1.18_003 CAB posted on this web site. Rarely, the problem can be fixed for some by installing Sprint's latest PRL, but users could possibly be charged roaming for doing this. Guess we'll find out when they get their next bill. Alltel's #DATA support line has been replacing these phones via their DOA process for the few that qualify, but i have a feeling that they will soon resolve to blaming the users for unknowingly "hacking" the ROM. Until someone posts it here, the only way to roll back the PRI is to have the phone replaced. Anyone care to share their experience?

You CAN reflash with the Alltel ROM available @ utstar.com and get the old Alltel PRL back and restore the PRI file, granted it may take a few flashes but it WILL work, Ive done this similar with the sprint PRL. I will tho look into the Alltel PRL file and see what I can do. As for now I edited the title and the bold print! Sorry for any inconvience to the users, but this can be fixed WITHOUT getting a new device. ;)

And if the PRI works on the Alltel phones, and the PRL is the problem you could just update your PRL with Alltels newest by downloading it from here and following this......

Quote:

I am going to tell you how to manually update your phones PRL (Preferred Roaming Location) so you can avoid going through CS.

1. Have your MSL code handy*
2. Download the PRL file
3. Unzip onto your phone
4. In phone, type ##775#, enter MSL code
5. Tap Update PRL, Then click edit
6. Select Browse, then click the file
7. Press Ok, Ok, Yes
8. Press Ok to reset the device

* If you need your MSL Code do this.
Call Sprint. Go to Activations line and get ahold of a human being. Tell them you are programming your phone and need your MSL code. They should give it to you no questions asked

There you are done. You have just manually updated your phone to the latest Sprint PRL without having to listen to CSR telling you your phone is already updated.

Mike

will this fix the ring-through issue after installing AKU 2.2?

UPDATE - it worked. just need to speed up the time that it rings from when a call is placed.

is there any way to DISABLE the call-thru when you want to. I frequently get online through the phone for gaming and what-not and would not like to get calls that boot my connection while im online.

:?

Wideawake 01-04-2007 06:45 AM

Force to 1x would be the only way to stop ring through, you can force to 1x only by doing the mode of operation registyry tweak. ;) But this is gonna drop ur connection speeds and may not allow for playing live and what-not. :D

This thing allows for data roaming with Verizon, too. BUT, i can't receive calls, text messages, or voicemail notifications while in EVDO coverage now. When the phone reverts to 1x coverage, then I can. Any of you braniac moderators got any ideas where i can get my hands on a VZW PRL to revert back to when I need to? I've tried *228 and all that jazz but it doesn't do the trick.
