Does the 1.13_003 PRI have data roaming? I am just trying to figure out if there would be any advantage to installing this on my 6700.

Cool man i am loading it right now.

ok guys this is a PRI file and data roaming has to do with PRL. Im not sure if this will stick after a hard but it should. I already have this PRI since mines a older phone. The advantage of this is if ur phone is newer then u cant talk on the phone and surf the web @ the same time (just like being in a 1x coverage area) but with this ur newer phone can do both voice and data at the same time. hope this helps.

Correction:

from Luv2Chill

PT_Ril_Apac_206301.sa updates the rilphone.dll file on the device. RILphone.dll is part of what allows Windows Mobile to interface with the CDMA radio in the phone (RIL stands for Radio Interface Layer). I do not know specifically what the new version does, but my guess is it's got something to do with data roaming.
More specifically, sheureka (who's no slouch in the 6700 scene) verifies:

I just installed only the PRI update and I can confirm that data roaming is now working! I'm roaming on Alltel in Kansas and no longer get "data roaming is prohibited" and the white arrows under the 1x sign are there. I'm actually trying to sling - and am very, very happy that I have EVDO! - sheureka
Others are verifying as well.

There is also this tidbit from Luv2chill:

Even more interesting (to those of us with SD cards anyway) is the PP_LockUp_Apac_212705.sa file, which at first glance seems to be an attempt to fix the DSOD issue we've all been battling for a year now. It updates the following files:

ohci.dll
qct.dll
qctusb.dll
rilphone.dll (appears to be the same version as in the ril cab above)
SDMemory.dll

The first three appear to have something to do with the USB subsystem... what's interesting is the last one. I've gone ahead and installed this on my 2.06 ROM... I will put in my minisd card and see if I get any DSODs.

well then mala my mistake :) so r u saying this will allow roaming onto other networks evdo?? because that quote of sheureka sounds like it but I may be mistaken again. ;)

from what I understand that's what it allows, actually I think it's both 1x and evdo roaming data.

this interesting in that PRLs might be the end-all when it comes to data roaming, but instead a software update is needed. not sure.

these files are reportedly going to be in the next ROM update.

Wideawake 10-31-2006 03:58 PM

ok if this is true then i should be able to roam onto the local alltel network and use there evdo!?! i will install asap, set it to roam, and go uptown in a bit and test this monkey out!
~mike

Edit:mala the posts says if u don't wanna do the full update then install the pstt or whatever and it will soft reset. so I done that and it worked....but my ? is what did he mean by full update?? sounded like a ROM upgrade maybe?? he did mention it will hard reset the device. the .sa file ur talking about isnt attached just the ppst.exe and default.....where is the file that may fix DSODs?
