Google fieldtrial.exe, it's a hidden file on the 6700 that displays signal strength info, gps coordinates, etc. You'll find lots of useful information on it.

As for those sprint reps telling folks the 6800 has gps...well...it's half true. I think sprint was going to release their telenav software for it after the next rom update (but I could be wrong, I get my information from the grape vine so...meh.)
