Are you using the automatic send/receive for email on your device? If so, have you noticed a correlation between the timing of the device checking for email and the screen coming on?

you referring to ActiveSync?

but I mean, that sounds like a bug to me, i dont see why email sync'in shouldnt work seemlessly without the screen popping up.

No, he means Direct Push e-mail, where Outlook mobile automatically connects to the Net and grabs your e-mail. It can be set to use scheduled delivery or push, which sends the mail to your phone as soon as you get it.

My phone does the same. Random "wake ups".
I've stopped the pocket dialing by locking the device from the "Today" screen. I figure it's just the phone talking to the towers. I keep te phone on my night stand charging and it literaly lights up te room at night when it wakes up.

Now this is the worst part: Yesterday morning, my phone alarm didn't wake me up. Having woken up at the same time for the past few years, I just figured I forgot to check off Monday. (I like to uncheck the days... kind of like a motivational "make it through the week count down".) I looked at the screen and it was PASSWORD LOCKED! Um, I NEVER set a password for this thing. The phone sits untouched on the night stand all night, nothing touched it and it PASSWORD LOCKS!

I tried every password I might have ever used and nothing! I even searched for default passwords. Nope. Wait, it gets better...After you enter the wrong password about 15-20 times, it locks you out for a few seconds. Then each try after that, it double the lock out time! I gave up at about a 2 minute lockout.

I ended up hard resetting the phone. Luckily I did a back-up a week ago.

This morning, the phone woke me up, but CONTACTS was open?!

My phone or hosue is haunted!

I'm going to build a new rom tonight to see if I can drive out the poltergoats!

Do you live in an area with poor sprint coverage? Every time the phone goes from roaming to in network or vice versa it wakes up. Setting it to work only on sprint will solve that, but you might have a bad signal sometimes. Active sync and direct push do not wake up the phone, at least not mine.

What I do is use s2u2 with the choice to turn off in 5 seconds if it wakes up, so it doesn't bother me at all and It doesn't call anyone by mistake.

You are correct. Most of the time you will see this when there is an incoming call or txt or a ghost issue where as said before there is a communication going on between the PPC and the carrier (ie tower). Mine does it quite a bit with the OEM ROM and the aftermarket ROM that I use. I have good signal everywhere I go.
