Alltel Replacing Phones With 6800?

I've been an Alltel customer since I left Sprint due to poor reception in my neck of the woods. I recently bought a very nice Blackberry 7250 off eBay right before the price dropped again and it locked up on me. Alltel sent me, to my surprise considering how old the 7250 is... a 7250.

Now I'm with HTC and I'm loving it. While I'm perfectly happy with my 6700/WM6, it's always tempting to spin the wheel of broken phone luck and find myself with a 6800, although it appears us Alltel users are left out of the Sprint break-a-thon going on in other threads.

So I ask you guys, should I even bother trying Alltel on getting a 6800 through insurance? I mean, they sent me the ancient 7250 back and that was quite a surprise. What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

they will if you go to the store and they have more than three 6800's in stock (they'll want to keep some for sales). It's really at the rep's discretion - at least it was when I worked there a year ago. Also, because they don't have anything comparable to a 6700 besides the 6800, escalate any issues to management and stick to your guns without being disrespectful. I would explain that there's no alternative you'll be happy with, having paid a premium for productguard plus for so long. Make sure you flash back to the stock wm5 rom before you go in if you've already upgraded. Lastly, don't commit insurance fraud.
