Verizon XV6800 finally coming

For those Verizon peeps using the 6700 that have been waiting patiently for the 6800, an internal memo finally came out naming November as the release month.

VZW just received the most recent revision from UT to test. There is no set day in November yet, even internally, as the testing is still underway. The status shows as internally testing security...so I'm expecting they will be available next month. Sorry no concrete day yet. Will post more as it comes out.

Thanks for the info verizonguy - I am due to replace my 6700 right now. The direction button is broken and I think the speaker is on the fritz. This is my 3rd 6700 in about 10 months and last time they offered to replace it with another model. I've been hanging onto it because I don't want a treo and that's verizon's only other option.

Since you seem to have some inside info, has there been any word on the Samsung i760?

There is no date on the i760 and very little internal info on at it at all, so it won't be anytime soon.

Only info I have on it is that it will have WM6, 64 megs ram, 128mb flash memory. It looks really cool though. I love that it has a phone keypad & a keyboard.

with your WM6 ROM on ym 6700 I could care less about a 6800

you cats kill me with the sprints better stuff. I had to drop sprint/nextel as an option as I like to use my cell phone in areas other than downtown. No matter how you feel about the cosmetics of the phone (I don't wear mine around my neck), its all about the network for me. I'm on verizon because I can make a friggin phone call. period. GOod to hear the XV6800 is almost here!!!

. I don't think anyone is denying that the Sprint version looks better but seriously... give it up.

The few dozen that slipped out to people a couple weeks back had the camera. I don't think they're even an option not to have one - which is a mistake.
