for all who is doing this...there are no registry hacks to use...the only one i used thats if you cannot edit your servr under the mms program...go to your registry editor...for those who dont have one GOOGLE IT, but yeah back to the instruction
this registry is to free up the mms server options so you can edit your server HKLM/SOFTWARE/Arcsoft/Arcsoft MMS UA/Config/UI/Enable Server Edit D-word 1 if its 0 set it to 1 and you should be able to edit the server in mms. |

Has anyone found a way to at least receive without a data plan? I physically removed the #776 (I think that's what it was) from my phone so it wouldn't connect to it and jack up my bill...
My GF is always trying to send me pics and I'd love to be able to get them somehow (I'm almost always tethered to a PC or have WiFi) Thanks!! |

Todd,
If you're on the base (WM5AKU2) Verizon rom, then you probably lost the MMS by interrupting the Verizon customizations after a hard reset. You can get it back by hard-resetting again or by navigating to the extended_rom using Total Commander and running the Arcsoft installation cab from there. There may be a few other cabs needed to properly provision it - check the sticky about necessary ExtRom cabs for each carrier. If you're running an upgraded rom, then you've flashed one that doesn't include the Verizon customizations built-in. The details of the fix will depend on which rom you've flashed.... |

I'm running one of BigJ's latest kitchens but i've never been able to get pics. I added the X-MdM and whatnot but wheneve i get an MMS the palm app catches it. is there a trick to this that no one has mentioned?

I am running Colonel's final 3.5 rom. Verizon. I see the Arcsoft MMS (3.0.6.24) cab in my ext rom. How do i know if it is installed or not ? It says it will be over 3mb which will take up all of the leftover space there in the ext rom. Better there than on the phone mem. Will it install the ext rom once i run it, if i ask it to and is it ok to have it there since that is where it is usually located (i also wonder what else in the extrom is really needed and what i can nuke bc i am sure there is some garbage there too) ? I have the palm threader and want to be able to use that still but i hear i will have to run the mms separate which is fine if that is the best i can do.

playdeep,
According to this thread, http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=4201, Colonel's 3.5 final did not include Arcsoft or anything else in the extended rom - you were to let these run automatically after the hard reset (i.e. Don't interrupt the customizations). If it's been installed already, then you should see MMS in your Outlook account list (or in Outlook, go to folders and see "MMS" at the top.) Unlike Sprint's, the Verizon ExtRom has very little garbage in it (spacewise, that is). As long as you continue to run Colonel's 3.5 with no built-in customization and you want MMS, you should leave your Extended Rom alone and let the customizations run after a hard reset. If you accidentally interrupted them, you can manually run the Arcsoft cab and other recommended cabs listed in the sticky. If you really want to start messing with the Extended Rom contents (i.e. "nuking"), imo you would be much better off just rebuilding the rom using helmi's 3.5 kitchen - virtually all of Colonel's stuff is in there. Then you could unlock and clear out the extended rom and use it for installing other programs or whatever. |
