this is nothing more than a chat program to be used within office.
not really functional to the average user, unless in the business world using office 24/7

Communicator is the client application for Microsoft's IM product (which as Sager mentioned, is SIP based). It'll require a Live Communication Server on the backend and connectivity via VPN unless a proxy server has been deployed to allow connections from the public internet. Microsoft is releasing a new product that replaces LCS called Office Communications Server.

Unless you work for a company that has this infrastructure in place, this software is worthless.

sjphone

both work for me on 6700 with sip.voipstunt.com

hope this helps.

You need VPN and the one included with WM6 will work just fine altho it doesn't remain connected long enough to work.

Is there an alternative VPN I can try?....I would really like to get this to work on my 6700....thx

I did not have any success connecting to my companies network using the included VPN, but I've never used it b4, so I may not be setting it up right.
