Boxit 5.0 waterproof case

Anyone tried squeezing an apache into a Boxit 5.0?

Here's a thread showing a JAMin in one, and they said it's pretty tight:

Exclamation Waterproof protection for your VX6700...!

Good evening!

Although most of us keep our expensive and handy little life lines clipped to our sides - most of the time, there ARE occasions that have caused me to consider either leaving it back on shore, or finding a usable means to store the device, yet allow me to actually use it - without having to remove it from its water-tight protection. Since my son and I often kayak, I have been known to frequent the local EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports) supply store. Of course - nearly ANY good sailing supply or outdoor and mountaineering shop (either brick and mortar - or internet based) will have a line of stowable waterproof pouches for not only a variety of cellular phones, but for two-way radios, as well!

For example...
http://www.cellsafe.com/splashpac.html
and
http://www.waterproof-paper.com/case...one-case.shtml

With their clear, flexible PVC window on the front side (for ease of use while still in the bag) and a roll-up or zip-up water-tight seal at the top - your cell phone can now be either worn around the neck or clipped to your person or gear... or simply stowed under deck - until needed. Another neat and appreciated feature - is that not only can you use the phone to make and receive calls while it's in the bag/pouch... but the sound is not muffled in any way... AND - MOST importantly... in the sad event it should fall into the briny brink... fear not, as it will NOT end up as booty in Davy Jones' Locker... as most of the pouches tend to make our trusty communication devices FLOAT...!!!

So, now - when you happen to crossing the rough and rising waters on foot, fall overboard or get swamped in high seas... you CAN call for "May Day" by dialing 9-1-1 while you are adrift and listening for any hint of an approaching fatal cello solo.. and know with the utmost of near certainty that your cell phone is nice and dry. Too bad you're not.

Oh, yeah... some of the manufacturers even make small versions to fit flip phones, GPS units and pages.

Hope this helped!

Because then I can't see the screen when I'm riding. I'd like to use mapping + GPS while I ride.

I broke down and got a Boxit. There's no way it'll work with an Apache. It's a really tight fit, and I could probably hammer the thing down in there, but there's no way you'd ever get it back out again.
