xv6700 -> usb -> win98

I want to share files from my xv6700(wm5) to my network of desktops that are run with 98se using a usb connection. Well, at least with one of my desktops. Anyone know of a way? Maybe there is a driver for win98se. Just a basic connection through an explorer window would be great!

there is a program called wm5torage that allows ur phone to act as a flashdrive. the sd card in the top of ur phone will be the drives storage. not ur main memory on ur phone. it basically turns ur phone into a sd card reader. i think its usb 1.0 so its slow. when w5torage is active ur phone will not "see" the sd card as being in the phone. so u will have some seperation there. but u can always copy files from ppc main memory to ppc sd card, then start wm5stoage then plug into pc. but even after all this i cannot say if 98 will recognize device without driver. but at least u dont need active synce. wm5torage i think the 5 looks like a S so to the creator it works and is cool way to spell storage

Yeah Win 98 needs drivers for everything. I use Resco Explorer as it has FTP locations and network access. Good luck on getting it to work on 98 BTW. You do know that 98 was about 10 years ago and MS quit supporting it some time back. Seriously giving thought to upgrading or replacing wouldnt be a bad idea you know?

You must be living in South Texas... I swear just about every office I walk into has machines from the 90s. I went to help a client last week and we had to turn them away because they wanted us to fix an old DOS box with a Spanish only commands! I walked in and told them, ya... I remember this from when I was a kid, but I don't know Spanish.

Ubuntu would be faster, more stable, and much more up-to-date, and it already includes the drivers you need for WM5torage

Talking thanks for the feedback

i'll check into that wm5torage. it sounds like just what I need. yes, I still have about 5 desktops that use win98se. I bought them each for $100 years ago and they still work fine. they do different tasks in different rooms like store and play free music (mostly old punk & grunge) or one is used in a home recording studio. Basicly, you know, i'm living moderately. those old computers are pretty useful if you aren't a big consumer. I stay true to my punk roots. anyway, my internet got cut off and I can't pay for it(not because of me, i'm good at budgeting), and I just need a way to search for specific freeware, mp3s and misc files for them. thanks again. if anyone has any other suggestions, i'll be happy to read them.

Unhappy wm5torage & win98se works w/ generic mass storage device driver

ok. it works. thanks. the mini sd card on my xv6700 acts like a flash card. no side effects & no errors. I still can't believe it.
to find the driver just google "generic mass storage device driver". the driver is needed on your windows 98se desktop in order to share files w/ your phone through the wm5torage freeware program.
