Installing a dialer causes most of phone to freeze

I have installed 3 different dialers onto my WM6 verizon 6700. Whenever I go to the phone dialer itself, the top and bottom taskbar completely freeze, rendering the device basically usesless. I cannot close the dialer and the hard phone buttons don't work. Any ideas what is going on?

Just to confirm, you're manually moving the dialer files into the \Windows directly and allowing all to overwrite the existent file?

Are you able to do anything or is the phone always locked up now?

If the above is completely true, did you try putting back in the original dialer? The files are here in one of the recent dialer threads. If all else is OK, doing this should bring you back to where you started from.

I am downloading cab files that install the dialer for me. When I uninstall them, the HTC dialer comes back and works just fine.

I would hard-reset. Chances are one of the 3 dialers left some dlls behind that are overwrites of the original dialer files. If a file is in use, the uninstaller may have had trouble removing/replacing it.
