However, the real fix for no sender information coming up is to not allow your extrom contents to install. It is replacing WM6-era files with older WM5 AKU2 files which cause formatting for incoming SMS to get screwed up.

I wasn't aware that reinstalling MMS fixes the issue as well but it will eat up storage memory as well as possibly leaving the older AKU files still on the device.

So that may be a good temp fix if you can't hard reset your device, but I encourage everyone to fix the problem "properly" as soon as they are able. Just do a soft reset as soon as you see the "Customize device in 3 seconds" screen after doing a hard reset.
