Battery Questions

So i think the battery on my 6700 is a dud or something. I charged it up until the green light goes on and all night for that matter, then i woke up went to my first class and then in my second class at like 11:30 it said battery is very low.
So my ? is, is there some sort of setting that i am missing here that can save me battery life. I know that you press the power button for the screen to go off, but otherwise is there a place where i could get a good new battery?

there are lots of places to get batteries, try search... ebay has them very cheap though.

make sure you don't have wifi enabled or anything that is keeping it out of standby mode for long periods of time...

If you have it set to check email often that will drain your battery also. That's been the biggest killer for me.

Yeah, but I keep my BT and Wifi on because I am always on both of them and I still use the OEM 1350mah battery. I can go usually 3/4 of the day depending on how much signal I have and how much I am on the phone. I do suggest getting a new battery because it sounds like yours is simply worn out and too tired to continue doing its job for you. However, when going to ebay, just remember that you get what you pay for. Most cheap betteries will not last long and are falsely advertised. Stich with somethign name brand and reputable.

If you put it in your pocket in a weak signal area it will continually search for signal and run the battery down rapidly.

I've found that since I don't use the EVDO network, if I disable it and set the phone to 1x mode I get a significant battery life extension.

Has anyone seen a bigger battery in the slim format than 1350mah?
I have the 'fat' battery but its bulky and make the phone heavier (which it already is heavy to begin with).
Was thinking I say a few 1500 or 1600mah batteries on ebay but not sure if these are truely what they say they are.
For now, i just have 2 slim batteries that I swap out during the day.
Oh, and both of my slim batteries are VZW OEM batteries that I bought from VZW store, 'fat' battery is ebay.

I use the seidio 1500mah and I am very pleased with it, I have a second one charged all the time in case I need it but hardly ever do. You can get it at Seidioonline.com
