Can't download .CABs from PIE

I'm running Helmi's WM6, and when I try to download any files (.cab, .wav, .zip), a message box pops up saying "This device is restricted from downloading this file type." Anyone seen this before or know how to fix it? I was able to download cabs yesterday, not sure what happened.

i had this over the weekend. it was the most random and frustrating issue, cause it came out of nowhere. i basically gave up and hard reset to stock settings (losing quite a few settings i had put in because my last auto backup somehow backed up with the said issue intact.) i dont know of anybody else reporting this issue here but you and I so I hope you dont have to go to my extreme...

Solved my problem. I ended up restoring a backed up version. I had been messing with ClearTemp before, so I tried again and I set it to remove bad registry entries, and apparently it trashed my registry. So, do not have it do that!

it depends what site it is from. Like when you start PIE you get that new page with the search bar and favorites and such, well if you search from there it uses microsoft's live search and it changes the pages to work better in PIE. It also disables downloading cabs and such. At the bottom of the page you should see options like next page, click the option 'view as html' or 'view original' or something like that. Find the download link again and click it, should work.
