TCPMP on WM6 with ORB??

I read a few posts in the long bug thread about TCPMP but didn't find an answer. I've tried TCPMP .71,.72, and .81 with ORB running the new WM6 on the 6700. I get the errors Windows Audio codec not supported on this device and Windows Media 9 video not supported on this device. Video works fine with Windows media player(no landscape) but TCPMP used to be much better. Any help is appreciated!

Well I haven't tried TCMP with ORB yet on WM6 as I really have never had any issues with WMP. Yeah, the landscape not switching automatically in WM6 is a pain......but you can switch it to landscape yourself and then hit the fullscreen button and it works just fine. Or slide out the keyboard and then hit fullscreen.

I do remember having to get the AAC plugin with WM5 to play a bunch of stuff I have on ORB that are mp4 files. Not sure if that is what you need though.

Good luck!

There is windows media player with WM6 is version 10. TCPMP was written to use the WMP9 codecs, not version 10. Hence the error about the device not supporting these files. I have seen download about this issue (ppcgeeks and on XDA-dev) that has the WMP9 files you need and I believe you just have to copy them into the \windows\ directory and soft reset and everything should be good.....haven't tested on WM6 myself though....

Do you realize that if you had typed your EXACT subject line into Google, the solution is the FIRST hit?

"Do you realize that if you had typed your EXACT subject line into Google, the solution is the FIRST hit?" Obviously not. Anyway, thanks for the help, got it to work with version .72( wouldn't work on .81) and the windows codecs placed into the /WINDOWS directory. Thanks!
