Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2) WPA WIFI bug

I have started a new thread hoping to deal with the WPA WIFI problem on the new WM6 rom.

From the 2 threads re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
I gather that the WIFI seems to work properly with other WIFI security methods.

It doesn't work with WPA-PSK. Any info would be greatly helpful.

Agreed. I did notice that when I turn on WPA-PSK, the "Use IEEE 802.1x network access control" checkbox is enabled, and it is greyed out so I can't disable it.

I know this is an issue, as my router is not set up for 802.1x authentication.

I'm pretty sure that if I can get that turned off, then my WiFi will work again!

Hey guys. I'm having the same issue. Tried turning on and off BT and Radio, but didn't make any difference. It doesn't even show my neighbor's anymore. I don't see any AP's anymore. I'm very puzzled. Other than this issue, my phone is working awesome! I'm sure they will get it figured out. I'm not willing to put my router on WEP mode.

Wink Wm6 Apache Solution(trick) For Wi-fi Problem To Work With Wpa-psk Tkip

I created a Written How-to and a Youtube video for this too.

I FOUND A WAY TO FOR THE WIFI TO WORK WITH WPA-PSK TKIP.
THIS IS HOW I DID IT: (i recommend to soft reset your device before you try this to ensure success chances)

1. TURN YOUR WI-FI ON. THEN CONNECT TO YOUR WIRELESS NETWORK (ENTER YOUR WPA KEY ETC).

2. LE THE WI-FI DO IT'S THING FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. (IN THE MEANTIME GO TO THE COMM MANAGER)

3. NOW TURN THE WI-FI OFF (WAIT ABOUT 1 SECONDS) AND TURN IT BACK ON. WALA, YOU SHOULD CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY RIGHT-AWAY (AFTER A FEW SECONDS) TO THE WI-FI YOU JUST CONFIGURED.

4. AFTER YOU HAVE CONFIGURED YOUR WI-FI CONNECTIONS, YOU ONLY NEED TO FOLLOW STEPS 2 & 3 TO RECONNECT TO YOUR CONFIGURED WI-FI NETWORK

(THIS EVEN WORKS WHEN THE PHONE GOES TO SLEEP MODE, THE WIFI RECONNECTS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES)

Here is the how-to on youtube for those that dont like to read. LOL
(you dont need to wait so long to turn wi-fi on and off as the video suggest, use the time suggestion of the written How-to above)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDI_cR7RXGw

I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE BEST SOLUTION, BUT IT SHOULD HOLD US UP (THOSE THAT DONT HAVE DATA PACKAGE LIKE ME) UNTIL A KITCHEN OR FIX IS CREATED. THIS WORKS FOR ME FLAWLESSLY, SO HOPE AT LEAST FOR MOST OF YOU THIS WILL WORK.

NOTE:
You will also find this how-to Here (where i originally posted it)

Unfortunately, the trick doesn't work for me. My workplace uses PEAP authentication and I can't get it to work at all. As soon as I turn the Wifi back on after 2-seconds, I get "Warning - Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you."

Oh well, at least it works at home with WEP.

PEAP is a whole different animal - you most likely need a 3rd party supplicant - something like Funk - Odyssey. You will also need the cert it mentions.. You can get that from your IT department if you are allowed wireless access.
