Re: Sprint 6700 to verizon

A P.M. Anyways, here is the Verizon MMS cab, I would suggest building a ROM without the MMS and then using the cab. You can do this or just change the current MMS settings, which would take more work. Also, flashing a Verizon ready ROM will work.

Flashing the Verizon Stock AKU3.3 will change the PRI, so that *228 works. This will also fix the internet.

I tried to flash a qwest phone with a stock vzw ROM and let customizations run and it didn't change the PRI. The PRI on my Qwest 6700 is 1.10_012 and the PRI on my Verizon XV6700 is 1.09_002. Is there a way to manually extract the PRI file from my Verizon phone and load it onto the Qwest phone?

How many times did you let OEM stuff run? I forgot to mention that it almost always has to be done twice. I mentioned that also in a guide I wrote for chaing the Vogue PRI.

I flashed it twice and hard reset three times for a total of about 5 times that I let customizations run and it did not change the PRI. Is there a way to change it using QPST or one of the other handy tools that I have? I tried searching for a solution but there's not alot of information on the PRI file at this time. Please let me know if you have a solution...

It isn't the PRI its the dmu & MIP setup. A sprint or any other PRI will work fine on vzw. You need the tutorial I posted a long time ago on using another carrier's 6700 on vzw. I had it taken down here due to people abusing VZW techs when they had trouble using their sprint touch pro on vzw. It may still be up at ppchaven.com under premium content (must register) under my thread.

Oh. I thought the PRI was what set *228 to work, as when the PRI was changed on the 6800 to a Sprint version, *228 was gonzo. I know any PRI will work fine, I have used several different versions from other carriers on Cricket and those work... but thought the PRI is what *228 uses.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I looked for your post on "How To Use Another Carrier's HTC on VZW" because I found it to be really helpful, but I only got an access restriction page. I'm aware that *228 isn't dependant on the pri but the prl file. My problem with the pri is the fact that the phone dialpad says, "Qwest" instead of "Verizon Wireless". Everything else on the phone is VZW except that, and it bugs me. I already changed the DMU key to 10 and changed the MIP settings in EPST. I only assumed that the different PRI is causing the original carrier name to display on the phone dialpad and today screen. I also copied an ERI file from a VZW XV6700 and loaded it onto the Qwest phone and that didn't solve the problem either. How can I resolve this?

The PRI and PRL are very different items not to be confused. The PRL does matter in the *228 as it will dial the ota programming for the specific carrier for that issued that PRL. The PRI is what restricts the gps on certain verizon phones as well as has many other radio level instructions.
