Opinions of Software that comes with WM6 (Helmi's)

I thought it might be nice to discuss the software that Helmi included in his WM6. It might be nice to hear how others like/dislike products to help us all decide what to include in the cooked ROM's later on.

I am in the initial stages of testing, but the one piece of software that I LOVE is Audio Manager. I'd never heard of it until this ROM, but it blows Media Player out of the water.

I've also enjoyed Deepfish and am still playing around with it.

I'm also impressed with Outlook and Internet Explorer. No drastic changes for me (no 2007 exchange server) but they are both still improved.

I'd love to hear other opinions!

I was happy that Resco is included because I was using that already.

I also like that all the HTC software (Dialer, AudioManager, Comm Manager, Task Manager) were all included as well. Those are all things I used to add in WM5 kitchen.

Windows Live and Yahoo 2 Go I can do without though, but I'm not complaining. That's what the kitchen will be for.

I love this rom, if I had to complain about anything it would be FLASH 7, and the newer version of TCPMP. I use youtube a lot, and unfortunately with flash installed, it takes FOREVER to load the youtube main page cuz its trying to run some of the flash advertisements. With TCPMP, it has issues with landscape and seems to not be as stable as version 7.? whatever it is. That's it so far though, I can deal until different versions start appearing. just LOVE having WM6. thanks helmi!!

P.S. does anyone know a way to temporarily disable flash? can't unistall obviously......

The zip attached has 2 reg files in it. One will disable flash and the other will enable it. You can put them both in your start menu for easy access. You also may need to restart IE between changes.

(Tested and working here on the WM6 rom with resco registry.)

if i had to say anything about this rom it is the best work i have ever seen. i would wreally like to see just windows mobile 6 with nothing on just plain wm6 with verizon brand and call it a day just to see how wm6 runs by it's self.

Everything is pretty snazy, my biggest pet peeve is the dialpad, its so fugly@! and i have no idea how to get the stock wm6 one on there haha.

Resco is always a plus but i must say that the new "stock" file manager kicks butt.

I dunno, seems pretty minimal to me, but nice all the same.

Resco is always my favorite explorer & apps.....however, I miss office apps.

Word & excel are 'must' apps for me...... anyway, I hope some great ROM makers will release new ROM....base on WM6

Which office apps are you missing? I noticed that most of them were included with the ROM! Check under windows/start menu/programs/office mobile. Sorry if I'm repeating what you already know.

Does anybody know how to make "Audio Manager" the default application for music? I'm wondering if it's possible to do. I much prefer it over media player.

Fot those who do not like the Touch Dialer and want the stock WM6 dialer. Goto HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin change Enabled to 0, and soft reset. The stock dialer has a scroll list of your previous calls on the dialer.
