PPC Audio

I have two silent ring tones, I want them set as my ringtone and text notification, so it would basically be put on vibrate, and be a shorter vibration than the standard one. My question is how do I get the tones to be availabe when I go to sounds and notifications, and pick a notification for a text message, I did it already for ringtone, but I cant figure this out.

Thanks in advance.

if you "right click" or press and hold, on the file, you should get an option to "set as ringtone" or in wm6, you can library browse though the audio files, hit the menu button with the file selected, and go to "set as ringtone". Also you can go to alerts in the settings, and set specific files which are in your ringtones folder to be synonymous with specific events, such as new email, or new phone call.

Or even better and more simple than that, you can copy the file over to \Windows or \Windows\Rings which is where all your tones should be stored at.

The problem in the OP seems to be varying the length of the vibration. I didn't think this was possible (not in WM5), or if it was possible was not very flexible. If you use the standard settings applet to set your phone to vibrate for any particular event/alarm, regardless of the characteristics of the ringtone selected, the vibration always seems to be just a standard 3-second pulse.

I do remember seeing a registry entry specifying the pulse-pause strings for these, but I never followed up since it seemed to complicated for everyday use.
