ringer length

i thought i saw something on this a while back and couldnt find anything so i will make a post.

i seem to have a problem with missing alot of calls on my 6700. when people call me the phone rings on their end like 6-8 times and i only hear it like 2 times. is there something wrong with my phone or just something i will have to get use to it. any way or any ideas on how i might be able to change this. i am using the cotton eye joe ringer downloaded from this site. is that maybe a problem also?

thanks ben

Do you have the ringer saved to the storage card? Ringers need to be in the main memory.

How long is that ringer, and how big is the file?

Ringers only need to be 30 or so seconds long, and in mono helps too. If the ringer file is too large your phone will take a while to play it, because it needs to load the whole file.

Well I checked the ringer out. The only thing I can think of is to convert it to mp3. So you will need to find a m4a to mp3 converter.

its not the ringer itself more than likey its the way sprint setup our phones to poll the tower for calls....there is a hack to fix this but may cause battery life issues. and all the ringers frm here should be just fine....at least I can vouch for mine.
