backing up existing rom

wondering if there is a way for me to do a complete back up of my phone including all the roms.
Would like to try some of the roms out there but always hesitant due to bricking my phone. also most of the roms i see keep refering to sprint and am using telus as my carrier.
take care

Use the new 1.0.4 Kitchen, download it from the sticky at the top of this forum and read the walkthru in the download, it explains how to do everything. Also read the entire sticky thread about the kitchen to familiarize yourself with the kitchen features.
Its nearly impossible with the new kitchen to brick your phone. The only common problem is getting stuck in bootloader, but there is a sticky about that too.
There is really no need to do a complete backup because the kitchen is so well done, and so much better than the stock roms. But I believe Sprite Backup and SPB Backup both do "complete" backups.

BTW, Welcome to PPCGeeks!
Since you are brand new the SEARCH feature at the top of this page should be your new best friend!

If you brick your phone you can always go back to the original rom that came with your phone. I did that couple of times.

Now if you want to save other things outside of your rom, use Sprite Backup. This basically backup your entire phone. But to restore it you need to be on the same rom on which you created the backup.

Hope that helps.

Do what rajivkamath said. Use sprite backup to backup everything off the phone, then if you brick it, just go back to the original rom you were using (the stock roms are available for download at http://www.utstar.com/pcd/uts_downloads.aspx) and use sprite backup to restore everything. Remember to save everything to the storage card using sprite backup.
Its really easy to use the kitchen, and like I said, its damn near impossible to "brick" your phone, just the occasional "stuck in bootloader" problem.
Just use the SEARCH and do some research and youll be fine. You will be amazed at the difference.
