button 5 when tapped does what it should do when held

I have the verizon 6700. I have button 5, the voice record button, set so that when you press and hold it, it rotates the screen. when tapped it is supposed to start microsoft voice command. however tapping it rotates the screen as well. I changed the hold function to kevtris and now tapping it starts kevtris. basically the button acts like its held even when tapped. I wonder if this is a software issue. I noticed it happened after installing microsoft voice command. soft reset didn't help. please help!
