Battery life went to hell...

Recently, my battery life started going down really fast. The battery is an OEM unit that is only a few weeks old. It used to last the whole day, but now it is giving the low power warning in about 3-4 hours.

The only thing I can figure is causing this is that I recently started using push email through mail2web. Is it possible that I have a setting wrong somewhere that is causing the data connection to be on too much??

I have already tried other power savers like lowering the backlight to 30% but still no joy. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!!!

My bet would be with that data settings, Try turning them back off to see how the phone handles afterwards... I had the same issue with a 1x connection and weather panel After I disabled the auto check everything was fine...

Well, you are aware of the only change you made, undo that and see if it makes a difference...

have the same problems with my phone. it would die after only a few hours and i thought it was the battery. Another thing while my phone was off the charger it would still feel warm. Verizon replaced my battery for free and come to find out that wasn't the problem, while at work i started disabling items from the today screen and amazing it works just fine now. I sucks cause now there's nothing on my today screen cause i can't find out which program was the culprit, but after reading around I'm beginning to think it was the weatherpanel plugin.

Thank you to all who offered suggestions. I ended up testing different configurations and discovered that wisbar advance and wisbar desktop was the major culprit. Slide2unlock was the other battery drainer.

In the end, I cooked a new ROM using the Helmi 3.5 kitchen and couldn't be happier. I am still using push mail and my battery lasts all day again!!! woo hoo.

battery woes

I had similar symptoms that Deadly and ppcboi had above. I was using Helmi's AKU 3.5 1.04 at the time and also use a mail2web exchange activesync account and was using weatherpanel at the time.

I could not figure out what the problem was. Same conditions, battery was lasting only about 4 hours. ACB Powermeter showed comsumption of 400 to 500 MAh of drain! That was 4x what it used to be. Anyways, I hard reset and reinstalled the Helmi 3.5 1.04 and did not use weatherpanel and that seemed to be it for me. YMMV

I would suggest a hard reset and restart of your apps if you want to make it fast or a better way would be to remove weatherpanel and reinstall it to see if you can see what the settings are that are causing the problem.

WeatherPanel went nuts whent it's authorization server went down around 8/16, causing massive PPC issues. You can get a rebuilt WeatherPanel OEM using storyr's authorizatoin server from my ftp directory. If you applied the first authorization patch, redirecting the IP using the registry, you'll need to update.
