n00b can't get Voice Mail Notification.

Sorry to introduce myself with a cry for help. I bought my wife an XV6700 on e-bay. She was at the Verizon store and saw one along with a Palm 700W, the salesperson told her it would cost over $500 bucks if we didn't get the unlimited data plan. I could tell she was disappointed when I vetoed the sale, so I scored a nearly mint condition XV6700 to stay in her graces. While waiting for it to arrive, I researched the crap out of the phone and stumbled upon this forum. You guys are awesome!! Before she even got to touch it, I had already flashed it with Helmi 3.5 release 1.0.4. A verizon CSR helped me activate it and all seemed to work flawless. Text messaging, SMS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi work great. I have only one small problem, the phone doesn't give vmail notification. No audible indicator and no Icon. I have searched for someone with similar issues, but I was given a time limit. The deal is I miss out on sex 'till the Vmail notification works. If I can't fix it, she insists I go back to the OEM Verizon Rom.

Please help me help my wife enjoy a superior rom.

EDIT: for spelling errors

Well you can start by going to Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications -> and in the Event drop down choose -> Phone: Voice Mail. Here you can make is make a sound, display notification on screen, flash light and vibe.

Also, when you built the rom, did you check the box in BuildOS for Verizon ext rom? And if so, did you allow the carrier customizations to run after the post-flash hard reset? i.e. soft reset when the Customizing in 3 Seconds box pops up? Also, what steps did you take when you were talking to the VZW CSR?

Details!

Oh and yes I already checked the sounds and notification settings, and I used the Verizon ext rom. Before you ask...No I did not let the Verizon cabs install after loading the new rom, I soft reset when it said "customizing in 3 seconds"

Whoops forgot this one. Verizon rep had me change the DN to the correct phone number, I think the other setting was MNN but I don't remember. Then she had me do the *228.

Check and see if your DN and MNN are still the same as what the CSR asked you to change them to.

Still waiting on a response from my last post...

I read in your first post that it said that your sms works, but it this something that you have verified? Not just texts to and from VZW customers, but also other carriers? I know this seems like a strange question, but as I understand it, the vmail notifications are actually sent to the phone via sms with special headers.
