HTC Touch dialer w/ smartdial

This is a modification of Jimm98y's beautiful dialer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1314722

I have used this dialer for about a month now with no problems with smartdialer. I absolutely love it.

I was just wondering if it had been talked about recently. I personally cant find a better dialer than this one. The buttons are actually huge.

I say this is a must have and should at least be available within the Kitchens. If need be i will make a OEM for it. Enjoy!

It will not be made available with the kitchens because it causes ## codes and the vision arrow state-change to stop working.

Feel free to make (or use any existing) OEMs for it if you want, but only fully compatible dialers will be included with the kitchens.

Bummer. I didnt know it did that to the ## codes. Although i never noticed it stopping my vision arrow state-change. That's probably because i have been using it so long.

I'm using the iPhone_Nargz dialer...

...and it, apparently breaks smartdial on the 6700 (yeah, I know the graphic shows it working... but it's all lies!). I'm wondering... does anyone know of a dialer that looks something like this (plain, but still stylish) that doesn't break smartdial, or require a 3rd-party skinning program installed?

I looked at the one the OP posted here, but that's a little TOO plain for my taste.

I use the dialer anyway, in spite of the bugs with the arrow state etc. It works great.

Yes, does ANYONE know of a large button dialer that doesn't break SmartDial and also works with ## codes?

I too am a user of the reTOUCHed dialer and have included it in all of the ROMs I've cooked since the kitchen was released. I discovered an interesting workaround to the ##code problem mentioned here.

If you add the OEM package called "## Codes" in the BuildOS, you're able to use the shortcuts added to the program folder to dial the ##codes without any problems.

I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable folks can figure out why that is, but for whatever reason, it works.

Just thought I'd pass that along.

I made those shortcuts as a workaround ages ago.

The ## codes just end up launching the apps these shortcuts point to, with the parms that are in the shortcuts. They're all in the registry (the ##codes and their launched apps) which is how I "discovered" what teh shortcuts should be.

Cool, I wasn't aware of where the OEM package came from on the kitchen. I was having a problem with the ## codes and on a whim decided to recook a ROM with that package in it and the shortcuts worked.

I've always liked the reTOUCHed dialer because of the larger buttons. I have big fingers and the small buttons on the default dialer were a royal pain in the butt.
