Is there a way to disable the front buttons?

As some of you may know I had to get another 6700, this one says Quest on the front.

Anyway, apparently the thumb stick is extremely sinsitive. All I have to do is barely move the PPC and it will start selecting stuff. And when I press the Windows key it takes me to the align screen (God I hate that thing).

Anyway I can get around this?

Not with software. But, cuting it off works great

Re: Is there a way to disable the front buttons?

Damn LOL, I didnt want to open my new one up

Well if I get that far Im going to try the thumb stick board out of the Verizon 6700 and see how that works

Out of the ordinary question here, would there be any issue using your Apache ROM on this PPC?

Yeah that's your only choices...

An Apache is an Apache, so yeah the ROM will work.

Re: Is there a way to disable the front buttons?

LOL thanks I already did it. Used the v1.00 NoID one... Thank goodness it tells you when your using the wrong one

So when I look to install other ROMs, do I have to look for v1.00 NoID?

Re: Is there a way to disable the front buttons?

It depends. If it gives you a country ID error then yes you need v1.00 with NoID. Otherwise standard is fine.

Yep. That's when NoID is handy.

WooHoo I fixed the thumb stick! What a pita... But was worth it and now Im enjoying your ROM At least the old XV6700 served some purpose

What is it that causes the need for the NoID thing, country error?

Not sure on that... for some reason it errors out. And NoID bypasses it.
