Phone Name?

Hey guys, on the today screen, where it says Phone Off or Alltel (verizon and sprint for other guys), How can I change this to say cricKet? Its one of the very few things that are still Alltel on my phone.

I believe this is set by the system you are on, have you dialed *228 to program the phone/update PRL?

Before I did *228 to program my home SID, my phone said "Digital Roaming" instead of "AllTel".

Be aware that there have been reports of *228 not working well with cricket flashed phones. You can keep trying, or just Grab this PRL file and manually update your phone:
Cricket 1040 PRL from MotoRAZR

Don't know if this will fix your specific problem though since Cricket shares towers pretty profusely.(ie: AllTel tower may BE your home SID)

yes. everytime you flash a phone onto cricket, you have to *228! I've had this phone for a few months already. *228 doesn't work any more however. but my phone is still working.

if I did that prl... would I have to re flash my phone? that cost 60 bucks to do! my phone works fine and don't want to mess with things that will screw it all up. I can't live without my phone.

How about the text on the upper left of the dialer screen? I would really love to be able to clear that text.

you can create a carrierlogo.gif file to replace that. If you're clever and don't want anything there you may be able to just create a totally transparent GIF so the background will show through.

You can check the Sprint extrom OEM for its carrierlogo.gif file to see an example of the size and format, etc.

Just put it in the \windows folder (may need to soft reset afterwards) and the dialer skin (at least the ones that use the stock dialer dlls) will use it.

I thought that was going to be linked with the carrier logo on the today screen....

Uhm, in the Windows Directory there is no carrierlogo.gif image...? I swear that has to do with the NVM like you were just telling me about the one on the today screen.

I just made a 5x5 transparent carrierlogo.gif and it works fine here. I just put it in \Windows and soft-reset. The wireless today plugin still shows Verizon Wireless and the phone no longer has the stupid text .
