Everything is set this way... I've done this a few times!

Dont know if this helps or not, but I thought I would at least post it here just to give the Cricket users something else to try...

From the MyCricket.com website:
"Your e-mail address is yourphonenumber@mms.mycricket.com. For example, a customer with the phone number 123-456-7890 can receive a multimedia message at 1234567890@mms.mycricket.com."

I can try that too... just not now. I'm back home and have no cell service here.

I'm going to redo the rom, I am skidish on that cricket.PRL thing so I dunno if I'm going to do am's cricket rom... I'm afraid of doing something like that and turn on my phone and try to place a call and it doesn't work and I have to have my phone flashed again for 60 bucks.

The shop I help out at is a Cricket service center. Let me know if you need help with the xv6700 with WAP or MMS mine is working fine.
There are a few server setting you can adjust on your own.

Yeah, I need things to work out properly. And I dont want to screw up my phone at the same time. My phone has been working on Cricket for the past few months. I haven't been able to use MMS or WAP (even tho I just enabled WAP yesterday).

You said something about a cricket PRL file from a RAZR earlier and that stuff scares me because I dont want to do anything to my phone that makes it to where I turn on the phone and try to place a call and it doesn't work one way or the other. It took me a month to get the balls to do my first rom update just because I didn't know if it would kill the radio settings for cricket.

Nothing in am's rom is going to permanently affect your phone. You should flash it and see if his net/mms settings work for you, because the extrom for the next kitchen is going to be very similar to his.

nFiniti 08-01-2007 06:32 PM

quick question... when you select a ext rom on the kitchen... what the hell does it do? Cause I did that on the last kitchen and my ext rom is still empty...

nfiniti - your extrom will stay blank--it's not involved at all in the kitchen process.

Let me try to explain this. The manufacturer of these phones creates a very generic ROM that could be used for any carrier in a particular localization (in this case anyone who uses English as a language). However, each carrier has things that they need to apply onto the phone to customize it. So rather than create an entire ROM for each carrier the manufacturer created a 10MB partition to hold cab files that apply the carrier's customization to the ROM. That's known as the extrom partition (extended ROM).

However, since we've got the ability to actually customize the ROM itself, what I have done is create an OEM package that includes the carrier customization stuff in the ROM itself. It basically takes the settings that would normally be in extrom cabs and bakes them into the ROM. It doesn't know nor care what is in the extrom partition still. It just means that you don't need what is in there (and furthermore should not install what is in there as it generally contains outdated and unneccessary stuff as well). If you're somewhat advanced then you can take that 10MB of space, unlock it, delete everything in there and use it for your own purposes--it's like having an extra 10MB SD card.

I hope that helps explain.

Thats pretty much what I've been using my ext rom for... I have some things inside it so that it installs everything I redo the phone... like my dial pad (which its actually in the new kitchen now) and other odds and ends.

Thx for that info.
