Severe problems with Sprite Backup Please help!

Ok, I have Sprite backup and I have done several backups which were successful. I recently had to take my 6700 into the sprint repair store so I had to reflash to Original rom (was running BigJ AKU 3.5) any way after I came home I went to restore it and when I hit restore it either tells me the backup file is not for that device that restoring it may cause harm or it restores but everything is messed up. Some of the same things are there and some aren't. Some programs will not open says they are missing. I can't even open my calculator. My mail problem is that I had dates in my scheduler and I need to get those! They are very important. What am I doing wrong or is there any suggestions?

I'm only going on what you wrote... but did you reflash to the ROM you were using before you tried the restore on the new device?
You can't restore from one of the newer ROMs to an OEM ROM.
(Unless you used Sprite's ROM Upgrade "routine". Which does work well, but you have to have created the proper files before you went back to the OEM ROM.)

Ok, I bought this from another user and he said he had BigJs AKU 3.5 installed. I flashed back to Sprint's. Now when I try to restore it wigs out and doesn't restore everything. Gesh...I knew I should not have flashed it back. Can someone please please help me install that again?

I am so sorry for sounding stupid I am just new to all this stuff.

Try flashing to BigJ's ROM first. Here is the link
http://ppcgeeks.com/bigjs-hybrid-1-2...-07-t6876.html

Then try restoring your backup with Sprite.

I think the problem is trying to write over and OEM ROM with a Kitchen ROM, so if you install BigJ's ROM you will be going from a Kitchen ROM to a Kitchen ROM which should work better with Sprite.

Ok, thanks I will try that but first can you lead me to step by step instructions on how to flash to that rom? So sorry to be stupid but I have never done this sort of thing. My 6700 was from another user and already came with the AKU 3.5 on it.

Thanks again for your time and patience.

Yeah I see that now. It tells me to launch the exe file in the download but I don't see it. It downloads as a zip file. I unzip it and I don't see the exe file.

Ok, so tell me exactly what steps you have taken so far...
You downloaded the BigJ ROM and unzipped it, then what?
