Help?!?! Please tellme this is a software issue?

So I just updated to a custom rom one of my buddies made, and now my soft keys, windows and ok keys, and the send and end buttons on my phone arent' working.. the center stick still works, and all the side buttons work..

I downgraded back to kirvins clean and simple, and still none of these keys work.

Is there anything that would lock the buttons on the face of the phone other than a hardware issue? It just is too coincidental that it happened when I upgraded the AKU... but it's not working with the downgrade either.

have you tried going to a stock rom? it could be as simple as button remapping...in the new rom as well.

Downgraded back to the UTstarcom 2.2 upgrade, buttons still don't work.

Is there ANY chance this is a software issue?

cmon folks, help a brother out. I really don't want to have to buy a new phone (no insurance for me).

No chance it is software related. The drivers and any software that would affect buttons is only in the OS. If you have flashed the stock OS and still have the problem it's a hardware issue.

I have the same problem a few weeks ago, I read some where that pushing the Joy stick and the Windows buttons will fix the problem. Mine is working know.

Hope that helps...

No dice.

Normally, the windows/joystick button combo brings up the align screen page... on mine, nothing

Pushing the joystick right now usually opens the phone dialer... I've got NO clue why.
