Battery connections

I can't afford to replace my phone that I use with my wheelchair to control wifi enabled equipment plus texting and talking. Looking at the battery connection I see that 3 of the contacts are bent down and not making contact with the battery. Does anyone know what the 3 contacts on the left are for. I'm not sure this is contributing to my phones slow demise but I suspect bending them up could not hurt unless they snap off or something.

Thanks
