Re: Verizon to Alltel VX6700
Please, for God's sake, use the search feature. Being a novice is no excuse to blow off searching and posting yet another thread asking for help.
What you need to do is download an Alltel PRL from here. Then place it in the "My Documents" folder of the device. Now dial ##775, enter 000000 (six zeros), highlight "Update PRL", then hit "edit". Now hit "Browse", then select the file called "30034". Then follow the on-screen step to get outa there. After the phone boots up Text messaging and calls should work after the *228 programing. Now to get MMS and Internet working (A valid Internet setup is required for MMS), you need to change some things. Here's the MMS settings, Server name : Alltel MMSC Gateway: Port number : 8080 Server address : http://mms-mt.alltel.net/servlets/mms Connect via : The Internet Sending size limitation : 300k WAP : WAP 2.0 As for Internet settings, you should be able to use a DCD carrier cab. Drag it to device then install it and soft reset. Again, I am helping you out very quickly, if something doesn't work, go search out for your self ![]()

Not a problem. I hope I didn't soud like a jerk to you, it's just that we try to get people to search and learn some things for themselves. Anyways glad you got it working. Now you're ready for PPC modding

Re: Verizon to Alltel VX6700
Sorry couldn't find this in the search... Everything works fine around my home. But I head into the Twin Cities of Minnesota and my phone doesn't work. Can't dial out or receive calls.
So what setting do I have wrong that it will not roam? Thanks Last edited by Westro; 04-07-2009 at 05:19 PM. |

Re: Verizon to Alltel VX6700
If that is the case you might want to do a *228 when you get out there. Some Alltel users have had raoming issues when changing PRL or ROMs.

Re: Verizon to Alltel VX6700
My phone works, but I have to change the roaming from HOME ONLY to ROAM ONLY when I travel 30 miles north of my house. Also when I dial *228 I get Verizon when in ROAM ONLY. At home I get Alltel when I dial *228.
I have a nation wide plan, but this is a pain in the butt, why do I have to chose "Home" or "ROAM" only. I need an "Automatic" Thanks |
