Okay jumping off the deep end of the kiddie pool..

Making my first custom ROM. Have been reading the PDF thingy in the kitchen. I use WAD, iLauncher and PB with the Vista Berry and Vista Berry II themes.. I have been reading for about an hour now back and forth on different threads about making an OEM etc.

Several program questions, I don't want to clutter up my phone like I did before so many things.. so little space!

1) The weatherpanel OEM in the kitchen is the MARS Weatherpanel right? I'm assuming so, because I've not heard of another one but making sure.

2) I cannot even get into making an OEM of my own for iLauncher or PB yet... I read a thread about that and it made my brain faint. Anyone have any luck with it yet? ( I do have my licenses and such for them)

3) I don't have to have WA2 on my device right? I can just use WAD and WisBar lite? or do I only need WAD? Those three confuse me. I want to have the least amount/combo as necessary.

4) HOW in the heck do I set my Vista themes or at least one of em as default?? They are messy looking things file wise (just gorgeous on the phone tho) I put the link to the files below (they are free themes, no piracy) Dingo did them for free. So anyone look and maybe shoot me in the right direction?

5) What are the HTC prefixed things in the builder? I don't know if they are stuff I really would like to have but just don't know it yet?

6) Office Mobile different that what my stock 6700 has on it now?

7) Anyone have or using a printing program to wireless send docs to a printer that has an IP addy (on a network)? I had one on old phone.. just realized today I lost it.. have NO clue what name was.

Enough stupid questions yet? Sorry guys!!!! Thank you in advance for being patient and either going and reading another post or answering what ya can. I'll get good at this and be silent soon.

1- Yes. Same thing.
2- I wouldn't, as they change more often than it seems you are going to want to reflash. But if you do want to, check out http://www.ppcgeeks.com/pocketbreeze...ems-t5406.html for a PB OEM. I haven't seen an iLauncher one yet.
3- I believe you do need WA2 to run WAD, but I'm not sure. But for the same reasone that I don't include PB on a ROM, I would not include these. They just update too often.
4- There is a way to include your theme in the ROM and set it as default. But I'm too drunk right now to find the thread to do show it.
5- Try and find out. I believe you are referring to the plugins. Some nice add-ins, but if you don't use them now and don't know what they are and don't want to have extra stuff in the ROM, skip them. I use the Audio manager and that's it.
6- No, same thing.
7- There are such things, but they are all (as far as I could find) retail/paid programs. Find the old one and reinstall it.

Good luck.

3- WAD needs WA2 or WALite. WAD will run with either but is not a stand alone.

Thanks guys! I am going to dig around and see if I have WA lite or if that's the WisBar lite I have already.

I can tell I'm going to spend a few hours tonight doing this. I know I can just check mark boxes and flash and be done but I really want to learn what I'm doing and see if I can make a few cabs into OEM's and have them, as well as empty out the ExtROM and use that storage. what kinds of things can you install to ExtROM and run from there? Anything or only lighter extraneous applications?

Also, You can get either a WA2 OEM builder, Or even pre-built WA2Lite OEM's from the FTP site, There on there I think in the New Core OEM's Folder...

Yes! Thank You! I downloaded the builder last night, I will mess with things today. I was trying to figure out how to get my theme as the default. That's going to take some time, obviously (if at all possible) cuz it uses WAD/WA2.
